Clifton Girls Softball League (CGSL) is an organization chartered under Little League, Incorporated and is designed to help young girls become good responsible citizens through the sport of Softball. It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. CGSL was established in 2011 and became the only all-girls softball league in the city of Clifton NJ. Our recreation season runs each year from April to June. Our current divisions include Tee-ball, Junior Development, International, Majors and a Seniors Division. (Please note all divisions are created based upon the birth year of the players, not the grade as per Little League guidelines.) In addition to division play, each year we sponsor an all-star team from the International, Majors and Senior's division.
CGSL is a highly competitive and successful program that has seen our Seniors Division all-star team capture the NJ State Championship in both 2017 & 2018 and advanced to the semi-finals in both years as the representative team for the state of New Jersey in the Little League State Regionals.
CGSL is an entirely volunteer organization with nominations and elections held each year for the governing Board of Directors. Clifton Girls Softball League Mission
The mission of Clifton Girls Softball League is to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Softball. Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, Clifton Girls Softball League assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage, and loyalty, the Clifton Girls Softball League program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes. The Clifton Girls Softball League Board of Director's endeavors to implement an effective Leadership and Administrative structure, which encourages children to come together in the spirit of teamwork: to learn, compete and to have a lifetime of positive memories.
